6SigmaRoom
is a software tool designed specifically for room designers and facility
managers who need to design a new facility or update an existing facility
configuration.
In 6SigmaRoom you have full control over the room configuration and the equipment housed in it. Model variants can be created to reflect different conceptual designs or room configurations. By default a new model is created with a raised floor environment, but it can be easily changed to include drop ceilings with or without a raised floor, internal or external cooling and of course much more. Creation of a 6SigmaRoom model provides a 3-dimensional Virtual Facility model which can be used to understand the placement of not only the cooling and IT equipment within the architectural design but also power systems, cables, pipes, bunds etc and their interaction. Given this Virtual Facility model 6SigmaRoom makes it easy to evaluate the likely thermal performance of different conceptual designs / layouts for a new facility or upgrade, or, for an existing facility facing the challenges of ever increasing power densities a tool to evaluate and understand current facility performance. Once created the 6SigmaRoom Virtual Facility model provides the basis for ongoing facility management using 6SigmaManager. |

Key features: |
|||||||||
| * Easy to use graphical user interface with full access to create and change the architectural geometry, cooling / ventilation, power and IT configurations; * CAD import generating outlines for geometry creation; * Equipment data import from an existing inventory via a neutral file format; * Libraries of IT equipment, cabinets, cooling units… * Drag and drop capabilities for model creation and update to create new items, move items already in the model or bring items into the model from the library; * Since the thermal models depend on a detailed inventory 6SigmaRoom provides a complete view of the inventory; * Predicts grille flows with or without calculation of the room flow above. Where the environment of above floor is not calculated in the model, compensation is applied to avoid erroneous predictions that can commonly occur in sub-floor only predictions; * Predicts the room airflow and consequent environment thermal environment for the equipment, accounting for the full architectectural geometry and obstructions such as columns and beams, floor jacks / pedestals, cooling pipes, power and data cables, junction boxes…; * Provides quick views of: - Grille flows; - Equipment at risk; - Cooling load distribution - Power distribution: - On the power system; - Within the facility in the IT cabinets… * The overall thermal environment. |
