Ground breaking software for the Data Centre Industry

6SigmaManager is a software tool designed specifically for IT and Facility Managers who have frequent changes of equipment and configuration or major changes that should be tested before implementation.

Modern data centres can often have hundreds of equipment racks or cabinets and thousands of servers with daily changes not being unusual. This large number of items not only presents an issue of inventory management but when combined with the increasing power densities can represent a risk of thermal failure as a result of changes.

6SigmaManager allows the IT or Facility Manager to test proposed future configurations to minimise the risk of failure. In addition the full inventory and performance are stored with the entire history of changes and so past decisions can be revisited as well as decisions for the future being made.

Key features:

* Easy to use graphical user interface with full access to create and change the architectural geometry,   cooling / ventilation, power and IT configurations;
* Equipment data import from an existing inventory via a neutral file format;
* Libraries of IT equipment, cabinets, cooling units…
* Drag and drop capabilities for model update to move items already in the model or bring items into the
  model from the library;
* Since the thermal models depend on a detailed inventory 6SigmaManager provides a complete view of the
  inventory;
* Predicts grille flows with or without calculation of the room flow above. Where the environment of above
  floor is not calculated in the model, compensation is applied to avoid erroneous predictions that can
  commonly occur in sub-floor only predictions;
* Predicts the room airflow and consequent environment thermal environment for the equipment, accounting
  for the full architectural geometry and obstructions such as columns and beams, floor jacks / pedestals,
  cooling pipes, power and data cables, junction boxes…;
* Provides quick views of:
   - Grille flows;
   - Equipment at risk;
   - Cooling load distribution
   - Power distribution:
      - On the power system;
      - Within the facility in the IT cabinets…
* The overall thermal environment;
* Full history of changes from the past;
* Ability to consider options for the future and plan choosing the best alternatives considered.
