Future Facilities joins Intel to discuss Server-Level Monitoring at Green DC conference

Future Facilities' North America General Manager Sherman Ikemoto joins Intel's Nishi Ahuja for a discussion of optimized airflow methods at thenGreen Data Centersw Conference in San Diego

February 1, 2011 – Future Facilities, a leading provider of data center infrastructure simulation software, today announced that its North America General Manager, Sherman Ikemoto, will discuss how data center managers can increase efficiency by raising ambient temperatures and utilizing optimized data center airflow methods at the Green Data Centers Conference at the Sheraton La Jolla hotel February 1-3, 2011.

On February 3rd, Sherman Ikemoto will join Nishi Ahuja, Data Center Architect in a panel at 8:30AM titled “Improving Data Center Efficiency with Higher Ambient Temperatures and Optimized Airflow Management Methods,” which will discuss how data center managers can create greener data centers while reducing operational costs.

The discussion will highlight the benefits of real-time monitoring of server thermal conditions and explain how computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis can lead to optimized data center cooling efficiency. The discussion will also describe how a simulation-based approach can allow a data center operator to predict the impact of proposed operational changes on factors like power usage effectiveness (PUE) and IT equipment inlet temperatures.

“I am pleased to be able to show attendees how server-level monitoring coupled with CFD modeling can offer data center operators a complete view of present and future environmental conditions,” said Sherman Ikemoto, General Manager, Future Facilities North America.
